I love burgers. Good, thick burgers on a good bun with fresh lettuce, cheese and tomatoes. Bacon's nice, and so's barbecue sauce. Or just basic ketchup, mixed with a bit of yellow mustard. Oh, and sliced onion -- yellow or white preferred, but red acceptable in a pinch.
But sometimes I like to go to a really basic formula for a good burger: a slightly-less-than-medium cooked patty on a toasted bun, with the condiments consisting solely of a good slathering of mayonnaise and a generous dusting of freshly-ground black pepper. Man, that makes a fine burger.
