Seems like shorts weather....

Officially, 2005 was Australia's hottest year on record. Cue the right-wing commentary that assumes that global warming couldn't possibly be taking place so long as snow or ice exists on any parcel of Earth's surface (for example). It's rather like the Creationists who robotically invoke the "junkyard" argument whenever scientists try to set them straight on the whole Second Law of Thermodynamics thing. (The "junkyard argument" goes roughly like this: "Well, if Earth's surface isn't a closed system, then neither is an auto-parts junkyard, but the parts never spontaneously arrange themselves into working Ford Tauruses!")
