The lifespan of a Powerline prediction

March 15, 2005:

Sorry, folks, but, like it or not, DeLay is the Majority Leader and likely to stay such for many years to come.


January 7, 2006:

Rep. Tom DeLay, the defiant face of a conservative revolution in Congress, stepped down as House majority leader on Saturday under pressure from Republicans staggered by an election-year corruption scandal.


It's OK, guys. Your new leader will, of course, be invincible in the face of those pesky, evil Democrats -- but I do hope that, if the going should happen to get tough, your friendly Republicans will be able to withstand their urge to throw their own under the bus rathen than fend off those silly, frivolous ethics charges.

Heh, indeed.
