The player is dead, long live the player!

Well, I bought a new DVD player on Friday night and hooked it up yesterday. So far, all of the DVDs that were not playing at all on the original player are playing just fine. (My new one's a Sony, for those who wonder about this stuff.) The old player was getting more and more temperamental as time went on, but hey, we got two-and-a-half years out of that machine. So here's one more public note of thanks to the inextinguishable Mr. Jones, who drop-kicked me into the DVD age by purchasing that first player for us in the first place. He's a fine old salt, a real muckety-muck. Huzzah for him!
