No WAY.

Sticking with the geek stuff for a moment, Jayme Lynn Blaschke points out the top 75 heroines of SF, fantasy and horror. Like all lists like this, it's primarily designed to provoke discussions of the "No way X ranks higher than Y" type.

So far be it from me to abstain: No freaking WAY does Ripley from those shitty Alien movies beat out Agent Scully, Wonder Woman, Lady Eowyn, San from Princess Mononoke, Queen Amidala, or Princess Leia!

Harumph.

I was actually going to email this to you because I came across it via an ex-pat's blog. I went to high school with him, and he has always had quite a wit about him.

He raised the point that Princess Buttercup and River Tam ought to have made the list somewhere.

Way! Actually, having quickly scanned the list, I have only this to say...

There was a "she-hulk"?

OMG! That... that... list... (pardon me while I sputter with indignation) None of the three women from Firefly are on the list? All three of them should have at least made it in the top 20. And no one from the new Battlestar Galactica?

I agree with you about Ripley. I liked the original Alien but the sequals were nothing more than an excuse to show a lot of blood, gore, fire and death and to get Ripley all sweaty. A complete waste of time, money and talent.

#@%! I do know how to spell "sequels"

They might be of the view that Firefly didn't last long enough and that BG is too new.

I liked Vasquez from Aliens WAY more than Ripley.

But then again, I rather like those, er, "athletic" types of girls.

Hehe

I'm with you pat, Vasquez was more my speed.

"Hey Vasquez, you ever been mistaken for a man?"

"No, have you?"
