Did the Ancient Egyptians invent the cardboard box?

It seems to me that there must be some kind of physics experiment to be done on the malleability of a cat's size, relative to the size of the box into which the cat is attempting to squeeze his sizable arse. I'm sure this has real-world implications, such as packing food for long space voyages.

SHHHHH...somethings are not yet ready to be released to a twitchy public. All that needs to be said about 'kitties' and 'space fighters' doesn't need to be said.

Oh and I know this kind of humor is pretty lowbrow...thought you might like it.

Sometimes I think the only reason cats need us is make cardboard boxes for them.

I've also seen photos of "big cats" (leopards and what may have been a panther) in zoos sitting in (larger, sized for them) boxes, so it must be something inherent to cat-kind.
