I've just watched the first ten words of the President's acceptance speech ("I accept your nomination....") and I have no intention of watching one second more, but I do have to note a striking visual: I really kind of dig the design of the Republican podium, the way they've extended it way out into almost the middle of the convention floor, so the President is nearly encircled by delegates. That's all.
No, this will not have any effect on my vote, of course. But I found it a fairly nifty detail.
(I know that weather and security would certainly prevent it, but I think an outdoor convention would be pretty cool.)
