I've never read Hamilton, and I only read the first Rice book and that was years ago. (I really liked the movie, though; never had a problem with Tom Cruise in that role.)
Mainly I like my vampires horrific; the whole "vampirism as sex" thing has been done to death, in my view, and never in as creepy a fashion -- and not creepy in the good way, either -- as in "Twilight".

I'm glad that you pointed out that it was a Twilight reference, because I think that I got it but I'm not sure. Also, because vampires suck.

I guess if you make fun of Laurell Hamilton books, hardly anyone will know what you're talking about. And making fun of Anne Rice books is so 1990s.
As for the hotel guy from NM, the hell with him. My more prosperous Mexican relatives wouldn't be caught staying within a mile of that place.
