Kevin Hosey has the beginnings of a good idea for Buffalo denizens who are frustrated by the "zero tolerance" Buffalo parking enforcement thing: if you're on the town and you spot a parking meter about to expire, pony up a quarter and buy the person parked there some more time. Imagine if we got everybody doing that! It would frustrate the police and make their pouty-lipped, "Not give us our raises, will you?" strategy backfire a bit, and it would be a great way for this city to live up to its oft-cited "City of Good Neighbors" self-image.
(Of course, it's easy for a suburban-dweller like me to propose things like this. But I'm with the city-folk in spirit!)
