Over at this MeFi thread, on the topic of a proposal in Houston, TX to put video cameras all over the place in an effort to "help the cops do their jobs", there's a bit of discussion (woven in and amongst other discussions) on what kind of snappy response should be made to the "If you're doing nothing wrong, you've got nothing to hide" canard. (As in, "Don't worry about having your civil liberties violated, because if you're behaving in a law-abiding manner, it won't matter.")
Well, my response would simply be this: "If I'm doing nothing wrong, then what I am doing is none of the Government's damned business."
Does that work?
