A very public thank you....

...to Roger, who sent me a copy of the Paul Simon album Graceland, which I have never heard. I look forward to listening to it, and hope to do so later this week or this coming weekend. Thanks, Roger! I can't wait!

You've never heard Graceland? That was my freshman college year when it came out, and I wore that tape out listening to it. A true classic now, and it artistically captured a zeitgeist that was overwhelmed with talk of South Africa and apartheid.

You've never listened to Graceland? Wow! Enjoy.

The album came out during my years of passionately listening to almost nothing but classical music, so it pretty much slid right benath my cultural radar, which at the time was pretty much deactivated in favor of the classical. A huge amount of popular culture went right by me from about 1987 to 1994.

As great as Graceland is, Rhythm of the Saints is even better.

Kerry: For the second time this week I have deleted a comment rather than approve it because of an errant tap of the touch screen. I apologize and invite you to resubmit, if you so desire!
