Something for Thursday
Not my favorite piece in the world -- I always find it a bit repetitive on the way to its unquestionably thrilling climax -- but I've had it on the brain a bit since linking part of it in my Erich Kunzel memorial post, so here's Seiji Ozama conducting the Berlin Philharmonic in Tchaikovsky's 1812 Overture. (It's in two parts.)
1812 was the 2nd piece of "classical music" I could recognize (after the 2nd movement of Beethoven's 9th). It may be repetitive but I'm not hearing it.

Repetitive? Maybe I need to try harder to hear the repetitiveness. I've always found it very interesting.
I don't hear the repetitiveness, but again I have an untrained ear. Also, I still don't understand what you have against baroque.
