Deep snow is NOT typical for my neck of the woods, so our recent storms have come as a bit of a shock to many. Way too many folks don't even own a snow shovel, and there were none to be had at any store in town this week. Things are a mess.
My reaction? Today I applied for four different jobs in Arizona. I just don't know how you deal wlith this stuff year after year.
Same thing here. Everyone was freaking out. My team at work had our unofficial Holiday Party last night and several people were debating whether to go. Seriously? Don't get me wrong, I'm not a fan of clearing the snow, but we live in effin' Minnesota.
To be fair, it wasn't the first storm that freaked them in Albany, it was the second one, after about 200,000 households were without power for an average of three days. I have a friend who was sans power for 5 days. It's not really snow, either. got 6.5 inches today, and it's no big deal. Christmas Eve, though, with a promise of mixed precip - THAT is nerve-wracking because it could mean MORE downed power lines and travel delays.
