No. Please oh please, No.

Sequels and prequels to Blade Runner. Come on. What are we gonna do now? See Deckard and Rachel on the run? Or go back in time so we can see what attack ships on fire off Orion's shoulder look like? Now, I've never been as enamored of Blade Runner as many are -- visually it's a staggering achievement, but narratively I've always found it oddly uninvolving -- but really, Hollywood, No.

I really think it's only a matter of time before somebody actually makes Brazzaville, the first installment of the ongoing adventures of former bar owner Rick Blaine and his friend, the ethically-challenged Police Prefect Louis Renault.

I really wish that instead remaking and sequeling classics Hollywood would dig up old, forgotten B sci-fi movies from the 50's and remake them. Some of those would be awesome with modern movie making technology.

Best captcha ever: dingsmag. I don't know what it should mean but that should be a real word.

There was a TV series based on Bladerunner but they insisted on calling it TOTAL RECALL:2025. If you ever saw any episode of that show you know what I mean.

And there were two TV series based on Casablanca. One in 1955 and the other im 1983.

So, in answer to your question: No. Nothing is sacred.

Somethings are just so perfect for their time that you just leave them alone. Kids who didn't see the film originally won't care about any sequel or prequel unless it's called AVATAR 2 and those of the age who love the film will be pissed beyond the ability for rational though. Just move one and use your imaginations for once, douchebags, or make more 'Shrek' movies.

Well, I didn't really pose the question as to whether anything is sacred, since the answer to that is obvious. But they're in overdrive nowadays with regard to their cannibalization of old properties over development of new ones.

No, you didn't ask the question, but it was implied. Or perhaps I just inferred it. Either way, it's true.

My entirely predictable reaction: gaaaaaah!

My problem with remakes in general: Come on people! Isn't there other books/stories/plots available to make a movie from? I'd rather see something new and different!
