I must admit that for years I've pretty much held the opinion that JonBenet Ramsey was either done in by her parents or by someone else very close to the family, and the parents had used their money to protect either themselves or that person.

Turns out, ten years later, that I couldn't have been more wrong had I believed that JonBenet was done in by a team of criminals including Jack the Ripper and whoever kidnapped the Lindbergh baby.

Anyway, apologies to the Ramseys for thinking they're murderers, and I'm glad that justice has finally found its way. It's a little too late for JonBenet's mother, who died a few months back, of course. That's the problem with justice: its timetable is purely its own, having nothing whatever to do with the 44 minutes that they have on CSI to solve the mystery.

I'm skeptical -- not only about this suspect, but also about the Ramseys and whether a clear answer will ever present itself in this case.

There are questions as to whether or not that guy was even in the state of Colorado at the time of JonBenet's tragic death. Even those who notified authorities and John Ramsey have stopped short of believing that Karr had definitely been involved. Anyone who believed that one of the Ramseys committed the crime ought to be equally suspicious that any member of the Ramsey family would naturally have a bias toward convicting anyone at all.

For now, I'm buying into the theory that this is another one of those all-too-common false and delusional confessions which investigators hear in just about every case. Most likely, I will still have plenty of doubts about this tragedy, even if or when the legal system considers it a closed case.

As I was listening to the radio on the way home from work, they were interviewing the father of another girl this suspect claimed to have murdered back in the early 90's. And he wasn't buying this guy's story what so ever.

This case is far from over.
