A Random Wednesday Conversation Starter

OK, I let this feature slide through the holidays, but now we're back in the swing, so: for those of you who read Funky Winkerbean, do you read each individual strip as a joke, or do you tend to scrutinize each individual installment as some kind of set-up for a future downbeat turn of events and see a depressing subtext everywhere in the strip?

My, we USED to get that strip in the local paper, but I haven't seen it in years. Didn't know it was still around.

Anyone who thinks they could read each strip as funny unto itself probably does not read the strip because reading it this way renders NO humor. Unless you find someone staring off into space after picking up a bottle of champagne funny.

Oh wait, brain dead wii adicts may enjoy it.

The subtext is brilliant although depressing, AND the setting is a suburb of Cleveland.
