I made the following item for dinner the other night. I'm not sure what wonderful name you'd give it, since it's basically sausage and beans. But if you want something easy to just toss into your crockpot, try this:
1. Brown and crumble one pound of bulk pork sausage (we used a spicy variety) with one diced onion.
2. Put the sausage and onion into the crockpot with all of the following:
Two 28 oz. cans of baked beans
1/2 cup ketchup
1/2 cup brown sugar
2 tbs. mustard
3. Cook on the "low" setting for six hours or so.
No, this isn't magnificent culinary achievement, but it's one of those "nice and easy on a cold day" things that you can toss into the crock pot before you spend a day going to Target and the grocery store.
