Still formulating an opinion. It was wrong. But I REALLY believe he conflated in his mind the events. I've done it, not just on the air.

The short of it is that our memories are notoriously malleable, and our recollections of years-old events are almost always somewhat, shall we say, 'modified' from the actual truth.
