A Random Wednesday Conversation Starter

What is the thing you ate that you were utterly convinced you would detest to the point that you were prepared to spit it out as you lifted the fork or spoon to your mouth, only to discover that you actually didn't dislike it at all and maybe loved it?

Butter on baked potatoes or anything else, especially sanwhiches. I hated that. The box lunches they gave us at cadet camp had baloney sammiches with butter. Now I can't imagine how I lived without butter on either.

I used to hate my food touching each other on the plate but I got over that when I realized how good mashed potatoes and salad went together.

I still hate beets though but I love making beet leaf wrapped bread or BEETNICKS as we call them. It's my summer indulgence.

almost every vegetable, but it was not my imagination: they DID suck. Until I had them fresh, or even frozen, rather than from a can.

Sushi. Definitely sushi. I mean, c'mon, raw fish? No way, man! But, you know what? It's awesome!

Kimchi. I thought I'd hate it, but I actually liked it a lot and even had seconds.

I'm not opposed to trying anything new. Life's too short to be finicky!
