Something for Thursday

Last week I posted some Wagner, the overture to Tannhauser. As a counterpoint, here is Wagner in a much gentler mood. This is the Prelude to Lohengrin, that magnificent opera about a Knight of the Grail whose name can never be revealed.



This music is, to me, a wondrous distillation of The Grail and the sad, lonely duty of a Knight of the Grail.
