In the wake
The other day I was wandering through Google Maps, using the satellite view to look at places I once lived and such. I was scrolling through the Portland, OR area, and I saw something that really caught my eye. Apparently the Google satellite managed to snap its shutter as a speedboat was completing a 180 degree turn on the Willamette River, creating a really neat wake captured from space:

The boat did a P for Portland? I've heard of people figuring out when the street view car is going to drive by and setting something up. Portland is big in the high-tech industry; maybe somebody did it on purpose.
ReplyDeleteAlso I kayak out to Ross Island from time to time and that seems to be the place most speed boaters do this maneuver, especially the "Willamette Jet-boat" tour company.
