Remember what a horrible, horrible thing it was when President Carter agreed to turn the Panama Canal back over to Panama? I mean, judging by some of the things I've read about that deal over the years, you'd think that Carter had turned control of the ports of New York, New Jersey, Baltimore, New Orleans, Miami and Philadelphia to a state-owned company from the United Arab Emirates.
But Carter didn't do that, of course -- George W. Bush did.
Oy.
