Well, I might as well go whole-hog with the Star Wars blogging, right? Here's a Flickr photostream devoted to the legendary conceptual art for the original trilogy by Ralph McQuarrie, whose paintings for the first film George Lucas commissioned as an aid for him to use in pitching the film to the studios. In a very real way, McQuarrie's work made Star Wars possible.
