Back about eight years ago I was looking for a buffalo chicken-style soup recipe (had never had something like that, but supposed it *had* to exist) and I stumbled across this one. Out of curiosity I poked through your blog a little, thought, "Wow, what a kind, earnest-seeming guy," and regularly followed it for several years. I stopped reading when I started grad school and life got really busy.

I'm partway through my PhD dissertation now. I moved back in with my parents after finishing coursework and do most of the household work for them, including cooking. I happened to think of that soup today for whatever reason and set out to find your recipe again. I wasn't actually even certain of the blog title anymore--the first thing I tried was "Ottoman" rather than "Byzantium" ; P

Well, anyway, I eventually found it. While my soup was cooking I poked through some of your recent entries. Revisiting your blog reminded me of a time in my life that now seems very distant, but I was glad to discover that your approach to life (while doubtless different, too) still seems just as kind and earnest. I hope these intervening years have treated you gently. All best to you and the family <3Shelomithttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09484604019411438798noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3338557.post-87371743632268979242010-01-06T19:55:49.441-05:002010-01-06T19:55:49.441-05:00I do love Danny's resturant. on 1 very special...I do love Danny's resturant. on 1 very special birthday of mine, we went to Danny's and that night they offered their wing soup. our waitress was awsome, when I asked how they made it she spilled the beans.

most of your recipe is correct, but they start with 2 cream base soups. cream of chicken and cream of celery. they also do add fresh blue cheese to the soup. there is your recipe~~~Debi out of hamburg nyAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3338557.post-66959100618503167482009-03-09T15:49:00.000-04:002009-03-09T15:49:00.000-04:00Crikey!Looks good, sounds like I may have to try it...Crikey!

Looks good, sounds like I may have to try it myself.....as yes,it does have potato in it.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
