I like it.Kerryhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00475488613261923813noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3338557.post-13343513933954249112011-11-14T10:54:13.362-05:002011-11-14T10:54:13.362-05:00That all makes perfect sense. (I strongly suspect the Serenity movie is basically what we would have seen in season two, compressed into two hours; I think that would've been a kick-ass year of television!)Jasonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11001416935247782462noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3338557.post-50183033548849226842011-11-14T06:28:58.298-05:002011-11-14T06:28:58.298-05:00I think the devotion is based partly on the qualit...I think the devotion is based partly on the quality of the show (it's awfully good, with smart writing and one memorable character after another; in its short run there are no 'clunker' episodes; and the show was successful in a short time in establishing a larger universe with recurring characters and story arcs) and partly on the fact that it's a genre that just doesn't exist much these days in filmed entertainment. It seems that these days space opera turns up on teevee or movies once every five or six years or so. Heck, I'm reduced to tracking down space opera from Japan now if I want to watch one.Kelly Sedingerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10704114189919711467noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3338557.post-50108674103863525832011-11-14T01:08:39.411-05:002011-11-14T01:08:39.411-05:00"You can't take the sky from me!"
H..."You can't take the sky from me!"

Heh, so you caught my reference! But of course you did...

You know, it's kinda funny: I don't consider myself a huge Firefly/Serenity fan. I enjoyed them both and think it's a shame Fox didn't give the show more of a chance, but I've only seen each episode and the movie once, and in the end, I don't understand the devotion of the Browncoats for a show that lasted less than a full season. Nevertheless, "the black" is such an elegant and evocative turn of phrase that it wormed its way into my repertoire almost instantly.

I tend to use "atmo" quite a bit, too.Jasonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11001416935247782462noreply@blogger.com
