However, I have never actually met a person who got a job via LinkedIn.

Also in the same vein: http://xkcd.com/1235/ :-)New York Erratichttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12910004748099284750noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3338557.post-41445443942647032592013-07-11T00:50:24.366-04:002013-07-11T00:50:24.366-04:00Facebook & Twitter. LinkedIn has actually landed me a couple of job offers (which I had to decline), as well as a couple of freelance jobs. It also helps me stay abreast of what is happening in my industry, and I do expect it to help if/when I ramp up my job search.Aaron Johnsonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17657571642783007583noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3338557.post-2605878697490080242013-07-10T21:25:28.607-04:002013-07-10T21:25:28.607-04:00I am, or so I'm told, a "Twitter maven&qu...I am, or so I'm told, a "Twitter maven"Ben Varkentinehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14860341359362967093noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3338557.post-54864684498730627322013-07-10T11:33:42.164-04:002013-07-10T11:33:42.164-04:00I have G+ but never use it; blog entries get poste...I have G+ but never use it; blog entries get posted there automatically. I have LinkedIn, but, yeah. What the hell does it do? It's just so yuppie. I have Pinterest (which is fun) and used to have Stumble, but these days I have no time to "play" online via web surfing, so it's Facebook and Twitter for me, and even my Twitter use is starting to decline a bit.Kaye Wallerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06491607694389685973noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3338557.post-30821379089128412512013-07-10T09:17:08.122-04:002013-07-10T09:17:08.122-04:00I have LinkedIn, but I don't know why.
I have...I have LinkedIn, but I don't know why.

I have Twitter, but never look at it; blog posts there. I get "follow" requests, which I accept about half the time. I suspect they drop me because I don't provide value.

I have Facebook, initially because it was the only way I knew what was going on in my nieces' lives. I might use it for 45 minutes throughout the day. Post to it when something monumental happens; blog posts automatically there too.

I have no interest in Pinterest. I find Reddit so ugly that I just haven't used it; anything groundbreaking will end up on FB.

And, since I don't have a smartphone, I have no apps at all.
