Then, when the "business" broke my heart, I went into classical music, earning a degree in composition and conducting, and my singing days were over--by choice. I mean, I did not sing, even just to entertain myself. In 2009, however, writing my Beyond The Bridge series triggered something in me and I'm back to it. These days, it's just for myself, my family, and friends, which is exactly as I want it to be. Once again, I sing whilst driving, cooking, gardening, and in jam sessions at parties. My characters really did help me heal those old wounds.Kaye Wallerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06491607694389685973noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3338557.post-2770755184156498022014-03-19T09:31:38.021-04:002014-03-19T09:31:38.021-04:00Never. We were doing some kind of Christmas thing and each Sunday school class was going to sing in front of the church. The Sunday school teacher kept trying coach me and finally gave up and told me to just move my lips. I guess that warped me for life because it's been many years since I've even felt like singing. It's fun when others play along. Just yesterday, the Daughter and I adapted "I Don't Like Reggae," which she had never heard, to fit us, the cats, etc. "I don't like Stormy, oh, no, I love her, ooh, yeah." et al.
