I'd be doing it in order to reinvest the money into something much more likely to bear positive fruit for our future. (And I believe that massive investment in science and technology, as well as our national infrastructure and creating a truly universal health care system, are probably the only ways to guarantee longterm fiscal and economic stability for our nation.)Kelly Sedingerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10704114189919711467noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3338557.post-36998842121891091832012-08-07T06:13:27.514-04:002012-08-07T06:13:27.514-04:00agreedagreedRoger Owen Greenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05298172138307632062noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3338557.post-52744815127304750482012-08-07T00:59:05.950-04:002012-08-07T00:59:05.950-04:00If we cut our defense budget by a third, that woul...If we cut our defense budget by a third, that would barely - just barely - cover the interest on this year's deficit:

2012 defense: $709 billion (1/3 = 236)
2012 deficit: $1,102 billion (without interest)
2012 interest on annual deficit: $225 billion

To put that in perspective?
