A great, great song. One of my all-time favourites. I went out and bought an album once, called, I think, American Pie and other Hits. I didn't recognise a single other song on the album, but that was OK. All I wanted was American Pie. What did I get? A truncated AM radio version of the song, and ten other songs I'd never heard before. Stupid record company!
