Sometimes the MSN front page makes me a bit nervous: "Powell goes to Syria to allay fears", but just in case that doesn't work out too well, we have to wonder "Would the Syrian army fold?"

And Kevin Drum makes a good point: if our information on Iraqi WMDs was so certain that we could ignore the fact that Blix's team found nothing, then why is it that we so far have found nothing? If there were so many WMDs, and we knew exactly where they were, why haven't we gone straight to where we know they are and held them up for all the world to see? And if Saddam had that many WMDs but moved them to Syria, how is it that our surveillance satellites didn't pick that movement up? I mean, if he had as much of a chemical and biological arsenal as we insisted that he did (using reports that were, in some cases, later shown to be less than credible), you'd think we'd have noticed the large convoys of trucks heading for the Syrian border. Unless there's a big-ass tunnel from Baghdad to Damascus or something.

Yep, Ari -- your credibility is really strong, there.
